Upon leaving the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom implemented its own Safety and Security Declaration System (S&S GB). Today, this regulation applies to cargo arriving to ports in Great Britain on board vessels sailing from non-EU countries and either being discharged, transshipped, or remaining on board. To ensure that all cargo is loaded on board, please remember to provide Hapag-Lloyd with complete and accurate shipping instructions latest at the time of documentation cut-off as stipulated in the booking confirmation. If the shipping instructions are not received on time, we will be unable to carry out the advanced filing of customs declarations as foreseen in the regulation and hence, must strictly follow the "No doc / no load" policy.

Here's some additional information connected to the Safety and Security Declaration System (S&S GB)
From November 1, 2024, filings will also be required for cargo on vessels sailing from the EU Customs Territory. This means that for cargo loaded at EU ports onto vessels calling a UK port, the shipping instructions cannot be lodged later than documentation cut-off. Your booking confirmation will indicate whether your cargo is affected, and you will view this under customs requirements. Please keep in mind that in order to carry out the advanced filing of customs declarations as required by the UK Government, we must strictly follow "No doc / no load" for EU shipments.
For your guidance, the UK Government has posted information about Safety and Security Requirements on Imports and Exports which can be found in the following link. If you should require additional information, please contact our teams at your location who will guide you based on your individual situation.
